about Julia

Due to her young familyJulia is not taking on any clients at the moment (up to date as of January 2012).

I am mother to Evie Rose who was born on the 5th April 2007. Evie was born by an emergency caesarean section due to her being an undiagnosed breech. Her position was detected when I went into hospital once labour had begun. I physically recovered from the section very quickly but emotionally it took a lot longer than I was prepared for. My bond with Evie was not very strong for the first couple of months and I feel that this was due to how I was feeling about having a section. For the first couple of months I went through the motions of being a mum and caring for my baby but without any emotion. I was very lucky to have had a close group friends that were also new mothers that I saw regularly and after lots of talking I began to come to terms Evie's birth. Once I had come to terms with Evie's birth our relationship began to grow rapidly day by day. I now have a fantastic relationship with Evie and am loving being a parent.

I trained to be a doula for a number of reasons; firstly to ensure that my next birth would be a more positive experience, secondly to help other families have all the information to allow them to make the correct birth choices and have a positive experience, and also to support families in the early days with their newborn.

Julia recently gave birth to a beautiful little girl called Jasmine.  She had a home water VBAC with independent Midwives and found it an amazing expereince, Emma was her doula.  Due to her young family Julia is not taking on any clients at the moment (up to date as of Jan 2012).
